Synopsis – Korean Drama The forbidden marriage 2022 Lee Heon is the king of Joseon. 7 years ago, when he was crown prince, his beloved wife died. To this day he has not been able to get over his death. For the past 7 years, the royal family and members of the government have tried unsuccessfully to persuade King Lee Heon to remarry. The nation also implemented the Geumhonryung Edict, which prohibited all single women from marrying during the period the king was unmarried. People are outraged by the marriage ban. One day, King Lee Heon hears from a woman named Ye So-Rang who claims that the ghost of the late king’s wife is in the royal palace.
Meanwhile, Ye So-Rang is a trickster and admits to interpreting signs of martial harmony. He is arrested and imprisoned where Officer Lee Shin-Won works. To get out of his predicament, he pretends to be possessed by a ghost in front of Lee Shin-Won. During his ruse, he mentions that the spirit of King Lee Heon’s late wife resides in the royal palace. He is then brought before the king and he asks if he can indeed see the ghost of his late wife. In order to survive, Ye So-Rang pretended that her body was possessed by the late king’s wife. Ye So-Rang’s lies grew bigger and bolder.
